Valerie Roth – Founder

Valerie went to the University of Michigan for her undergraduate degree and has an M.A. in Communications from the Annenberg School for Communications at USC. Her passions really came into focus when she went back to school for her Holistic Nutrition degree in 2014 and found the opportunity to blend her love of healthy eating with wholesome food products aimed to heal and restore. She loves everything about Fire Brew and hopes you enjoy all of its benefits too!

Mapsy Powers – Director of Operations

Mapsy is responsible for business operations of Fire Brew and keeps the trains running on time.  She has a B.A. in Communication and Media Studies and an M.A. in Educational Leadership and Administration. Mapsy is an advocate for healthy lifestyles and an outdoor enthusiast, fueling her passion for Fire Brew’s health tonics.

Ashley Harte - Community Outreach Coordinator

Ashley is a graduate of the School of Visual Art and a recent Portland transplant. She discovered her love of natural medicine while taking a break from New York City and working on a farm in Maine. She hounded Valerie until she gave her a job, and the rest is history. Ashley manages the market and event staff, coordinates Fire Brew’s community outreach and is a general Jane of all trades.

Jocelyn Furtado - Production Manager

Jocelyn is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University, where she studied Culinary Nutrition with a focus in Food Science. Her strong love and connection to food began at a young age while studying Culinary Arts in high school and college. She moved to Portland to be in a community that is passionate about great food and health! 



Betsy Ullstrup - Production and Fulfillment 

Betsy has been passionate about health and wellness since a young age. As a certified yoga teacher and reiki healer since 2006, she loves inspiring people on their path to healing through food and natural medicine. She has a degree in biology from Arizona State University and in her free time enjoys traveling the world, hiking in the gorge, and volunteering at a local horse rescue.
